well so yesterday i sort of overslept. i woke up at 12:23. whoops

missed spainish but thats all so. not to bad i guess. econ was good yesterday cause bakken brought food. that makes anything more fun.

afterschool i went to XXX: state of the union with my dad. it was alright.

XXX: state of the union  this movie was ok. the plot was weak but lets face it. if you are thinking of going to it you aren't going for the plot you are going to see stuff get blown up. and for you it has a lot explosions, rocket launchers, superfast cars chasing bullet trains, tanks, everything like that. i think they first thought. "what cool explosions/ action squences do we want to put in a movie" and then thought how they could tie them together somewhat with a plot. end verdict. if you like stuff getting blown up and can handle things happening for no reason but to have tanks there then this movie is for you 2 out of 4 stars. probably not worth 7 dollars.

i might go see HGTTG today but who really knows for sure.

Friendly Little Reminder: i put up a thing a while ago that none of you got and i said the first to answer gets points... lots of you know the answer now. go for it.

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

so i got to church at 8:55, hopped into kents van sometime after that. went and picked up timmy at west fargo. and then got donuts and got to the civic center at 10 and started setting up with a bunch of other people for the josh mcdowell superchic[k]. being in the civic center with no one in it makes it look really small. i picked the right stratagy and followed around one of the guys in charge and got to do fun stuff, ran the huge light board for a while. its really nice. i know what less then half, maybe less then a fourth of the buttons do. it was fun.

got done setting up at 2:30 went and at and then went back for the dress rehersal/soundcheck for the drama. we meet "tom ross" he is like " i am the  production manager, emcee, and assign for the bold truth tour." he was a funny guy. i am glad i met him later he said "if anyone gives you any problems just let me know... i'll take them out, bam bam." then went to "supper" i didn't really eat anything (well i had some fries) cause i had chinese buffet for lunch just like 2 hours earlier. we skipped back to the civic that was fun. i like skipping

i saw some people. that was good. saw some i expected others i didn't. all good people. then the concert started. superchic[k] was really good. the first drama thing went really well. good job lizz, natalie, and curtis. so then there is more superchic[k] and then josh comes out so i have to go get the mic for my drama with krista and chris, the two others in it with me. so we go up on stage to where the sound guy is to get the stage. being on stage in the civic center with it full of 3000 people... makes it seem really big.

so we go out to out spots for the drama. they have these nice signs on them that say something like "this spot is resevered but if you want to be on the big screen sit close to it" so i sit down and the kid next to me says "that spot is saved" and i say "umm yeah... i know" josh talked for a while and then it was time for our drama. really i don't know how it went. it just went. i hope it was good. all the crew and superchic[k] said it was the best they had seen on the whole tour but i am not sure if they meant it or if it was just them being nice. cause they are nice. i really don't know

well then it was the rest of the talk by josh. when he asked people to come forward. i saw three people i knew go up (well 5 but 2 of them were going with) that is awesome. 2 of them i know have been "worked on" for 4 years almost. so that is great. pray for them that they can continue in what theys started tonight.

afterwards i got to help take down aswell. again great fun. maybe i should do that as a job sometime. who knows. anyways we got done at 12. so grand total iwas at the civic for 13 hours today. with almost no break.. ooh

well i have to give a quick "shout out" to natalie, curtis, chris, lizz, and krista who were the other "student actors" they were great to work with. i had sort of known two of them before but not really. i came in late in the game and they well all the great type of people who you can be friends with right away so thanks for that. if you ever read this that is.

I think thats all i got for today

ANSWER: none of you were close... i went through 21 hours of tape.

TASK: none of those are riddles. ryans was pretty close though 3 points to him.

now i am going to bed. nighty night

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

so ym mom was going out of town today, i had to give her a ride to someone's house at seven thirty. and when i normally don't have anything untill 10 thats pretty early. and so i got outside. and its snowing. thats not cool.

anyway. i came home and worked on an email to camp. finally finished it at lunch time. thanks for all of you who helped with that.

went to church after school. did more video stuff. some computer stuff. then youth group. tonight was bigger and better.

each group starts with a salem pen and we go to different houses and say "hi we are from the salem youth group and we are playing a game called bigger and better and we start with this pen and try to trade it for something bigger or better." so first it takes our group like 6 houses before someone is home. then it is a lady who answers the door and i explain the game to her, a guy in the next room says "well what kind of pen is it?" i looked at the guy, he was just in his boxers "its a bic and its clicky" i say to answer him. he says "lemme look around" and the lady looks around a little bit and then says "yeah i don't think we have anything to trade... and we are kind of in the middle of something"

who doesn't have anything that is better or better than a pen. i mean come on. you could have even given us a different pen.

we ended up getting a fork and then trading that for a can of beans.

yeah we lost.

so yeah that was church tonight.

oh yeah yesterday i found hopie's pen. ok heres the story. one wednesday hopie and i are talking about pens and how she doesn't like black pens and that there is a black pen boycott at her apartment. so then she tells me that she keeps a blue pen hidden in the youth room to use, and that she has had it hidden for 3 years. well yesterday i found it. it wasn't really hidden. i am sort of disappointed it sounded tougher. i always just forgot to look so thats why i didn't find it untill yesterday.

i would tell where it was but i can't

i was at church for 7 hours today (if you count the time while i was out for bigger and better)

QUESTION:
how many hours of video did i go through yesterday and today?

TASK:
Stump me with a riddle

points for each

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

hey there,

so i am at church right now. i came here right after school to do more computer stuff and i started going through and labeling video tapes. we need to make mucho highlight videos from the whole year and do senoir highlight things and a whole bunch of other things. some before the 8th and all before the 18th... better get cracking. kent and i already decided that there will be many all nighters pulled. its good we know that now though last year we just did 4 all nighters in a row. spacing them out is a better plan. what am i talking about. i don't know

courtney (w) go ahead and make your normal comment on how much time i spend at church. sunday it was 7 hours, 2 yesterday and 4 today. lots tomorrow and thursday and friday etc...

yeah well now i have to go to bethel and practice for the josh mcdowell superchic[k] drama thing. anyone out there who wants to go and needs a ticket i have one. lemme know

yeah well i gotta go maybe more later.

i can't decided who made me laugh more courtney (j) or ryan. so 113 points to each of them.

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

so today i woke up and went to espanol. we were working a a group project. 4 people per group. i was the only person from my group there. and i didn't have any of the stuff. yay

lunch i finished my presentation for econ then came home and made peanutbutter sandwiches in the "sandwich maker" it toasts the bread and the stuff on the inside gets warm. so the pb was all mealty... num

econ class. the presentaions were pro/con for different things. i definately won.

afterschool i went to church to work on the computer and teach myself new programs and things. that was fun then i had ap gov review and ap calc review. got done at 9.

its wierd when you walk out of school at 9 even though you know it is 9 it still feels like 3. wierd.

so i found out today that a girl i know (and some of you know too( (i am not sure if i should tell who it is or not so i am not going to) ) was not getting along with her mom so her mom sent her to live with her dad (they are divorced) and her dad lives in wisconson. thats got to be tough. so pray for her and all the things going on with that. i am not sure what they are but God does so.

no girls called me sexy today... but one said she liked my shirt. thats no where close. oh well.

no one made me laugh last time so get on that

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

hello everyone

so first today was studet leadership team meeting. we had our verse test today. 12 passages which doesn't sound to bad and some of them aren't but one is eph 5:1-21... thats pretty long. yeah i hope i did ok

then was church. songs were a wierd mix. i can't explain them. if you were there you know what i was talking about.

after the serman it said in the bulletion that there was another song but there wasn't and michelle just played piano like normal when the service is over. everyone just looked around for a while thinking "do we get up now" and no on wanted to be the first to move. then bob hannestad got up. just after he got up about half the congregation was up right away. it was pretty funny/odd.

sunday school was good

went to godfathers for lunch. yummy.

worship team practice. went well. i started playing with the new mac to learn some of the new stuff. not to shabby.

after that we (ruby, michael, jonathan, benjamin, and i) went frolfing. ruby and i were waiting for everyone else and ruby holds up her disc that says "MRV" on it she says " miss ruby volla" and points to each letter. i hold up my disc that says "stratus" and i point to each letter and say "super tough really awesome thomas ultra..." and she says "sexy"

i got called sexy... by a girl...

and last week i got called cute twice in one day.

what can i say.

after frolfing was bible study. that was good. my new bible i got for free in nashville is one of those metal bible. i like it but its NLT. its just wierd. not really but it feels wierd cause i am used to NIV. kent started reading something and i went to follow along and thought i was in the wrong spot cause my words were different.... duh....

yeah. i am not sure if i am going to use it as a normal bible or just a "hmm i wonder what the NLT says" bible

lots of you would consider this major news i guess.
i am going to DGF prom with heather as of today. should be good times. i know like 4 people from DGF but thats ok that is about half of DGF's school. right ryan (for those of you who are confused i always make fun of ryan for coming from such a small school (usually i say the whole school is about 10 people))

EDIT:wow... i am amazed at my internal clock... i was making apizza and set the clock for 9 minutes and came back to the comp. just now i thought "its about done now" so i walk out and there was 3 seconds left

ANSWER TO QUESTION: none of you were right but it was getting so said that i am just going to tell you

the contest was to fly a kite over the river. then with that string the pulled over i bigger string, then a bigger string and so on and so on, untill they could pull the cables across and make the bridge.

ANSWER TO CONTEST FROM ALONG TIME AGO:
the code from along time ago |    |  |  |      was never solved by anyone here is the answer. it is CBC. if you remember one of the clues was that it had to do with one of my bracelets. well it is one of those old ones from camp that had vertical threads and horizontal threads. well the horzontial threads of mine broke in that part leaving just the vertical ones. tricksy

this has been alot for you brain to digest so there will be no question today but (stealing this from courtney who stole it from someone else but adapting it for my own purposes) whoever makes me laugh the most gets points.

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

EDIT:  i put up a new picture. its funny cause i was really wearing my dark blue suit and a white shirt and a red/maroon tie. i a bunch of my sr. pics i had the same clothes so i changed this one.

so i went down to bed last night and the rabbit was by my window again. the screen was still of so it wasn't trapped. it was just there. so today i went out cause i figured it was stuck in the window well cause its just a little bunny and the window well is like 2 feet to the first step/level thing and then another 2 feet out. i was gonna help the little thing out but it wasn;t in there anymore. who knows. i'll have to see if it comes back tonight.

so most of the day today i did nothing.

i was supposed to mow the back lawn but the mower didn't start... oh shucks...

so i was talking with austen (who also applied for ymc mentor at camp like i did) today and he said that camp called him but he wasn't home. camp hasn't called me yet. i wonder what this means.

this is a little wierd. this is the first year i have not known right when i applied that i would be accepted at camp. the first 3 years i was ymcing and last year jeff asked me to do my job so. its odd.

anyone wanna go frolfing sometime? lemme know

QUESTION: a suspensiojn bridge needed to be built across a violent river. the river was so violent there was no way a boat could cary the suspension cables across the river, and the bridge could not be built with out the cables. the builders held a contest to solve the problem. a young boy won the contest and shortly after the cables were across and the bridge was built. how was the problem solved?

**THE FOLLOWING IS A TRUE STORY**

Today started for me at sometime close to 4 in the morning. I awoke to a strange sound. The sound seemed to be of some sort of animal making a whining noise as well as the noise it made while rustling around somewhere in my room near the closet. I said "Dog" in a questioning tone to see if it was my dog. (My parents named him Einstein because he could fetch and pee outside when we got him but none of us kids liked the name so we just call him Dog.) Dog was not in my room. I listened again and still heard the noise. I was now awake enough to know that the noise was not a part of some strange dream I was just interrupted from. It was real. The sound was coming from somewhere along the east wall (my room is in the northeast corner of the basement of my house) of my room. There is a window well on that wall, perhaps something had gotten in through there. I knew the noise was not from outside. It sounded too close. All of these thoughts ran threw my mind in a few seconds and I knew I had to determine what the noise was. I reached to my cluttered night stand and flipped on the light that I use for reading before I go to bed. This light is far from bright but it was a stark contrast from just before when the room was almost pitch dark, lit only by small amount of red light radiating from my clock. As soon as the beams of light filled the room I examined it. After my eyes had fully adjusted I scanned the room again. I could see nothing out of place, though it would be hard to tell with the mess my room is. I got out of bed to survey the room. Everything seemed to be where it was when I went to bed only hours before but the noise persisted. I stood in the center of my room facing east and the noise sounded right in front of me. I crouched down to browse through some things on the floor. While I was ducked down to move some things around the noise seemed to be above my head. I looked to the window and realized the noise was coming from the window but yet one way or another not from outside. I cautiously raised the blinds to see a rabbit. The rabbit was not outside my window, nor was inside. It was in between the screen and the window. The window was shut but the screen had been slightly open. Somehow the rabbit had found the way in the screen but could not find its way out. Carefully I opened the window slightly on the right side, while making sure the rabbit would not get inside, I unlatched the screen. Closing the right side I proceeded to the left side and unlatched to other half of the screen. Once the screen was unlatched I pushed it out away from the window. This frightened the now liberated rabbit and it ran off into the night. I closed the window, laid back down, and turned off the light. The room was again quiet and dimly light by the red glow of my alarm clock. I was soon asleep again.

Yeah that is how my day started. i woke up later and thought i heard the same noise again but this time it was a dream. that happened a few times.

my day at school was preatty normal. started a presentation on taxes and savings for econ. presentations for johnsen are always fun. got some nice pictures for this one along with the standard picture of an old person crossing sign that i have used in every presentation for him. the first presentaion bob and i did for him was on aarp. from then on we (or i) have worked the picture into every slide show done in gov and econ.its fun.

after school i went to the social security office to get a new card. mine got stolen a few years back in nashville when my wallet got stolen. you need a ss card to donate plasma for biolife so i had to get a new one.

tonight my dad and i went to see

THE INTERPRETER: good movie overall. it had a nice plot and a few good action sequences. not enough to call it an action movie. it storyline makes you think. for those of you who have not heard of it a UN interpreter (nicole kidman) over hears plans of an assination. as the plot unfolds it was sort of easy (at least for me) to decern what was going to happen next. you could see one step ahead but no more. still a good story. there is even a love story in there for you girls. i would recommened it. it might not be worth 7 dollars to all of you but when it hits the cheep seats it is a definate go see. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

QUESTION: no one has gotten the bridge one yet so look below. courtney's (the second one) made me laugh so 30 points for her.

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

so not the much happened today. i need to think of something to do during lunch. it hasn't been to much of a problem recently being that i haven't been in school much but now i will be for a while so what should i do over lunch?

that is my main problem right now in life.

i need to solidify my lines for the josh mcdowell thing a little... do you all have your tickets yet?

this update is going to me more random.

so i saw this thing today on tv. i forget what it was about but it was really stupid. it was on the jane apuly show or something. i was flipping through and thought. this is stupid

just thought i would share

i just took an ADD test.... i got bored and didn't finish

i used to have a livestrong bracelet. it broke does that mean that i got cancer?

i like swimming at knowledge bowl state. its a time when i know the other guys are going to be just as pasty (or more) than i am.

they aren't in that great of shape either.

my brother called my moms phone yesterday and asked for me... at first i was confused as why he asked for me then he asked a math question.

how many senior pics should i get... i know lots of people

this is as much as i feel like writing right now so....

since levi has had a lack of riddles i am going to put one up today for my question. not as fun as answering them but hey...

QUESTION:a suspensiojn bridge needed to be built across a violent river. the river was so violent there was no way a boat could cary the suspension cables across the river, and the bridge could not be built with out the cables. the builders held a contest to solve the problem. a young boy won the contest and shortly after the cables were across and the bridge was built. how was the problem solved?
(this is before airplanes)

ruby and courtney and sam won yesterdays question. sam gets 90 points gooby gets 100 for more lyrics and courtney gets 110 for adding the sound effects.

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

so yesterday at 10 we left from school and went on our way to craigans resort in brainerd. i brought the digital camrea with and took lots of pictures some silly and some pretty artsy. i got this one of some boats.... anyways.... we stoped at a mcd's along the way. then we got there and hung out for a while we played tennis and stuff untill 4:15 ish and then got ready for the formal supper. that was at 5. the sevred us last and the servers were really bad. they reached across the table they served from the left . lots of things but yeah.... i had so much food i had like 6 bread. my food. cassie's turkey, jessies turkey. dessert, more bread, it was alright. then we took the written test and went swimming.

today we had 3 oral rounds then dinner then 2 more oral rounds. 2 out of our 5 players were gone for the last round. they had to leave to go to dc for orchestra. it was sort of funny. the other team looked at us and was like "why do you only have 3 people" first we told them there was a car accident in the parking lot. then we said "not really.... we just like it better with three" after the last oral round we had to go into a tie breaker of 15 questions. if tied after that it would go into SUDDEN DEATH but it wasn't so it didn;t. we smoked the team from buffalo in the tie breaker.

we ended up in 4th. not to bad for not have a full team. we were behind by 11 or something like that. could have been made up for if we had a full team maybe.

the bus ride how was nice. there was 9 of us on the coach bus if you count the driver. i didn't think i fell asleep but i think i did cause it felt like the bus ride was really short. who knows.

after i got back it was lugg night for church. the 12th grade guy started frolfing. then went to kents for pizza and video games.... that makes good night

the econ principle from last post was the principle of sunk costs.  sunk cost is a cost incurred in the past that will not be affected by any present or future decision. Sunk costs should be ignored in determining whether a new investment is worthwhile

Question:
What do ducks do? ( i am looking for a specific answer here, you all know it)

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

well so today i had school. then knowledge bowl practice till 4:30. then ap gov review session untill 7 then ap calc review untill 9. so i was at school for alot of the day.

but i went back to school today for the first time in a week and a half and now i am gone tomorrow and the next day. hehehe.

knowledge bowl state. i would give the standard "of course we will win" talk but 2 out of the 5 team members from team one will be gone for at least the last round if not the last two that will not be good for us at all. hopefully we still do pretty good. but if nothing else its 2 days out of school and at a resort. not to bad.

nothing much else is going on. today i was at school the whole day so nothing really interesting happened.

none of you got my name right. but the first one to get it right will get lots of bonus points. (that means you should come and find out what it is and then be the first on here to post it) mainly you should just come.

if any one wants tickets i have two (one was going to be for me (but then i get a free one for being in this drama) then one for a friend who can't go) they were 12 dollars and i would love to get that money back if i could but if i can't i might as well still have people use the tickets.

talk to me

QUESTION:
what economic principle did i use in todays update?

probably no update for a little while being that i will be at knowledge bowl state.

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

well so yesterday i got to church to help set up for dinner theatre at 1:30 or something. then i left at about 12 30 so... it went well i still did about a billion jobs, cook, cleaner, valet, host, server, technical person, things like that. its wierd that its over. my last one. oh well. moving on

so today was a teen vision concert at calvery united methodist in fargo. we needed to be there at 7:30 so i was going to pick up kayla at 7:15. i woke up this morning to my mom telling me that barb (teen vision director) is on the phone i look at the clock and it is 6:24 that is like almost a whole half hour before i was going to wake up. so she tells me that the bus (that has all our stuff) will not becoming but we are going to try use the sound stuff from the church but i need to bring 5 mike cords. the whole conversation i was just "uhh...ok" so then i tried to sleep more but i couldn't

we (kayla and i) got the cords from the youth room and headed over to the concert. andy saw us when we went in and looked really confused as to why we were at church at 7:30 because we had no reason to today.

the concert went good. some how i got recruited into doing a drama for the josh mcdowell/ superchic[k] thing. i am not quite sure how that happened but hey. so that is a week from thursday and i need to learn this part by then. shouldn't be too bad. i have memorized more in less.

ruby and i were talking last night and decided that people dying isn't really all that cool so we are boycotting dying. hopefully this boycott will last a while.

you all should come to the josh mcdowell / superchic[k] thing its gonna be good. yeah you should all come. anyways. thats all i got for now

QUESTION: (for bonus points)
what is my name in the drama?

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

well i didn't go to school today caues i am still excused from my trip and i didn't want to wake up so...

at about 2:30 today i went to church to help get ready for the dinner theatre. then when that came i was a host/greeter, then i was a server, then a valet, then a clean up person, then a cook. yeah i did a lot of stuff. and most of it while wearing a suit and flip flops.

kayla and i were the last kids there a bunch of kids went to perkins and we were going to join them but i had to do some moving of equiment in the youth room so they can put in the G5 tomorrow. its about time its only been two monthes since we got it... grrr... i am bitter. anyways

then hope and michelle are like "ahh this cheesecake needs to be in the oven an hour more" so kayla and i say we can come back and get it after perkins. so yeah we went to perkins and everyone was just leaving so but we still had a while before we had to be back at church so we got food. kaylas sister katrina was there with the others and is now there with us.

i got the chicken tenders with mac and cheese and breakfast potatoes. good stuff. last time i got that was with the langford crew and dusty was our waiter. he was way cooler than my waiter tonight.

so then we went back to church and finished the cheese cake stuff. left at about 12:40 i think that might be the latest i have been at church not counting over night things but i can not say that for certain.

kent told me that i can rake someones yard tomorrow for $100 i am really debating if i want to or not. cause money would be nice but i my legs are sore now from standing/walking etc all night and so i don't want to do that tomorrow and then do dinner theatre tomorrow night and have my legs kill. and the fact that it is a hundred makes me think that it is a really big yard. ahh.. i wonder what i will do i guess we will see tomorrow i am goint to bed now

p.s. still looking for cd traders out there (for details see entry below)

QUESTION:
what would you do for a klondike bar?

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

well so we got home last night. i gathered together all the cds i got and the few i had and organized them into alphabetical order and put them in a cd. since then i have already found two more cds. grr. i knew that would happen and i am not taking them all out, thus froms the random section in the back.

so i got this idea. i have lots of cds that are brand new and some haven't even been released yet. you guys and girls on the other hand, have cds that are old. i am lacking in the department of non-new cds. so if anyone wants to trade some good old cds for some good new cds let me know.

one of the many adventures i had this week that i forgot to write about happened monday night after the second showcase. i was walking and two guy who were obviously drunk came up to me smelling of alcohol. drunk number one asks where i am from and i say "moorhead, mn" he says "oh do you know where..." pauses while he pulls a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket that is an advertisement for some show, he hands it to me and continues on  "...where this is?" i say "no sorry i am not from around here." and i had his crupled paper back. he gets mad and says something to the effect of "fine, hand back the invitation that was for you to keep" him and the silent drunk number two walk away. apparently he was trying to advertise for the show. um yeah....

well nothing much happened today besides organizing cds. if you want some new cds and wanna trade lemme know. that would be aces

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

i am home.

that is aces

update more later

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

well yesterday i won something at the drawings. 4 free sunday brunches at some resturant in tennessee... too bad i leave today. oh well. hopefully i will win something i can use today.

last night concerts were good the first one was tobyMac, Michael Tait, Kirk Whalum, Nicole C. Mullen, Out of Eden, Lisa Kimmey, Phil Keaggy, The E.R.A.C.E. All-Star Band. it was really neat they played sweet songs and did cool stuff the second one was by far the better of the night and maybe the best of the week it was Shaun Groves, Taylor Sorensen, Ginny Owens, Michael Olson, Superchic[k], Sara Brendel, Tree63, Paul Colman, Mat Kearney. it was held at rockettown which is a cool place that used to be a warehouse or something and its now a christian club. pretty sweet. anyway i got some of the best video of the week there cause it was all standing so you could stand next to the stage and not feel like you are blocking anybody. peter furler played drums for mat kearney and was sitting about 2.5 feet away from me so i got some good video of that. then the last group was superchic[k] that was definately cool. the came to right by me too. it was all really aces.

that is my new expression "aces" we will see if i keep it up.

well this will be my last entry from nashville being that i am leaving today so i will see you all later.

take care

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

hello again. i am back at the library. i only get an hour a day here online so if i left some of you a comment yesterday saying i didn't have time that is why. just to let you know

yesterday was good. i think i am still a little deaf from one of the concerts. you'll hear more in a little bit.

yesterday i lazed around for the morning and then came over here to update all of you. then i went to the daily drawing for prizes. there are a few each day but most will be drawn for on wednesday. i won nothing so far.

the first showcase/concert of the night that i went to was the world vision showcase. all the artists who performed (Paul Colman,Todd Agnew, Tree63,Building 429, BarlowGirl,Warren Barfield, Big Daddy Weave) are supporters of world vision and have the stuff at their shows. it was really good. i was video taping again. (this time there was no man to shut me down) and then towards the end people started moving to the front up by the stage so i moved up. i was standing right in front of (and at some points leaning on) the tower of subwoofers. it was at least 6 feet tall byt 4 feet wide. it litterally made wind. it was cool. the timing of that concert was really good cause right after it finished my battery died. it was really close. as the last song (africa by paul coleman) was being played the battery with a slash through it was flashing on my screen. stupid me only brought one battery pack and the small one at that. because of that i can only record one showcase a night. grr. oh well.

the next showcase i went to was at the hilton ball room. it was Adam Watts, Jadon Lavik, Number One Gun, Seventh Day Slumber, Hawk Nelson, Falling Up, KJ-52, TFK, Kutless. the concert wasn't mixed that well. it was ok i guess but i would have done it differently if it were up to me but it wasn't so oh well.

i haven't done that much yet today. haven't decided which showcases i am going to tonight yet either. it would be relly cool if i found a camera battery on the ground right now. i would enjoy that. anyways.

i shall see you later.

oh, while there isn't much stuff to get, i am getting lots of what there is (i.e. 4 copys of some cd a guy was handing out in the hall, things like that) so if you are looking for free stuff you had better be nice to me....

In God's Hands,

well so i am here at the library in nashville and here comes an update for you.

wow so this keyboard is a different size than i am used to so its wierd.

so wednesday night i was going to sleep on the couch upstairs so that my parents would be able to wake me up early so we could leave the hosue at 6 in the morning. well my stomach sorta hurt all night and it was keeping me from falling asleep. i assumed that it was because of the way i was positioned or something making it hurt so i tried moving around a few times and i still couldn't fall asleep. then around 4:50 i felt a feeling i am very familiar with from my younger years. the feeling of "i am going to throw up" so i went to the little boys room quick and made it just in time. after my stomach was empty i laid down on the floor and fell asleep for about a half hour. my dad was then up and needed to use the rest room so i got out. i fell back asleep on the floor of the kitchen (so i would be near the sink) and i woke up around 7:30 or something. i showered and then as i was drying of i threw up again just barely managing to get it into porceclain. yeah so then at 9 we finally started the two day ( 20 actual drving hours) trip. what a wonderful thing to do while wanting to throw up...

most of the way here i was laying down in the back of the PT crusier with my legs scrunched up so my stomach could hopefully not be agrivated. i slept most of the first day. i didn't eat anything that day, that should tell you how sick i was. we stopped for the night at rockford, ill. my dad my his customary joke having to do with the old tv show.

Friday: that morning we were on the road again. i laid most of the time still but sat up for parts of the trip. we got to nashville around suppertime. in my weakened state all i had was a small burger with nothing on it and a half of a small fries. i couldn't fall asleep that night because of a combination of all the sleeping i had done that day.

Saturday: i woke up at noon or so after falling asleep at 5 or 6. nothing was really happening yet saturday most everything was going to start on sunday but my dad had something to do so we were here already. saturday i ate a half a bagel and some crutons.

Sunday: sunday is really the kick off and most of the high lights of nashville. it started with a chapel service. some guy who is big and important or something came out and said high and then introduced chris tomlin who lead worship for us. i was video taping it all for you guy to see later and "the man" came and told me that i could not video tape. so i put the camera down on the floor and sneakily aimed it at the stage and let it go. it worked pretty good.

then after worship with chris, louie giglio came out to speak. he started with how this (sunday) is the sabbath and how we need to take time to rest. not rest like nap time but taking time to acknowledge and thank God for all he has done and all he is doing. then he went on to talk about this being God's story and we are not the main characters. most of you were saw him at nationals heard something like that. good for me that i brought my "i'm an extra" shirt with me. i had worn my black one on saturday but luckily i had brought my pink one as well. i am wearing that now. people have asked me about it they think its cool. it was a really good sermon.i am eventually going to try get some of the sound from the video on this site or somewhere. maybe even the video it self but we'll have to see when i get home.

then when louie was finished david crowder came out and lead worship for a while that was wicked sweet. he taught us a new song that he has never done with an audience except when recording the new passion cd (on sale tomorrow) it was relly cool.

after that my parents had a lunch thing and so i wandered around the display booth's and things for a while. then at 2 it was time for the "artists welcome reception" which i normally call "free stuff time" but this year i was very dissappointed. everyhbody just had pictures and things to autograph but no cds. there were 2 people with cd's they were giving away. hopefully there will be more freecds some time later this week. you should hope so too because the more free stuff i get the more likely it is i will give some to you. at 4 it was time for liner recording were we go around and record artists saying " hi this if ________ and your listening to LIFE 97.9" and what ever else. so i met a bunch of people and talked with some who i have meet in years past. nice time. i reallized that david crowder and i have the same hair. well mine is a little bit thicker but other wise its the same. scarily the same i have a picture i will put up here some time.

the next big event of the day was worship at the ryman (the ex- grand olde opry) lead my micheal w. smith and a with choir of everyone. seriously they listed which people/bands were in the choir and it took up a page. yeah no joke. that was really good.

right after that was the song writers showcase when the writers of the hit songs of the year. come and perform them how then thought them up. so its really sweet. this is the first year that i have seen the song writers showcase that steven curtis chapeman hasn't been in it. it really cool to here the stories behind some of these songs. i recorded that too. hearing an accoustic version of "savior" by skillet was really aces.

oh yeah all i had to eat yesterday was a half a crosant (however you spell it) and some ice cream, getting better

well that is about all from nashville for so far. it's going good. i hope you are all having fun where you are at too. hopefully i win some of the drawings i am in.

well i am of i hope i don't get sick anymore

In God's Hands,

well i just filed my taxes (i will be getting a check of 62 dollars soon) and then was checking on here.

ok so courtney j. on her site talked about how tonight the message at youth group seemed how it was just for her and how great that is and asked when that has happened to other people so here is my story about that. and some background first. (i think i remembered everything , it is late so if i didn't i will edit it and tell you what i left out)

it was the summer of 2002 and i was working at camp. it was junior high 1. i was counseling with andy pull in emmaus. i was scheduled to work at the AP (adventure program) over free time on wednesday so i was on my way over when AA (double a (aaron ziebarth)) came up to me at about the rv park. he told me my dad was on the phone in the office for me and that i should go talk to him. he had someone going to replace me at the AP. this confused me. i had never gotten a call at camp much less during the week and i had no clue what would make AA find a replacement for me at the AP. so i went to the office and talked to my dad on the phone. he told me that my grandpa was in the hospital and that the docters said that if i wanted to see him before he died that i should come home now. my brother andy was there to pick me up that day at supper. my grandpa and i were really close, i would spend i week at his house every summer as a young child. i saw him that night and then the next morning i sent this email to everyone at camp.

 Sent: Thursday, June 27, 2002 8:11 AM
OK so here is whats happening as i understand it last Thursday they brought him to Innovis hospital in Fargo for tests on last saturday they were thinking about surgey for gall bladder stones or something like that the surgey happened on Monday but now the doctors think he had a heart attak or something beteen Sat. and Mon. on Monday he was still talking and interacting and things tuesday he was mainly just squeezing hands except for one time when a nurse was in and some one was telling her about our dog he said Einstien (our dogs name) so they brought einstien into the hospital and had him by my grandpas hand. by yesterday when i saw him he was no longer squeezing hands and we have no way of telling if he knows whats going on around him. They are giving him morphine and other things to keep him comfortable but since his kidneys jave failed toxens have been building up in his blood we don't really know how long he has. All your thoughts and Prayers are apreciated.

so that was the situation when i got there. he was laying in bed with tubes and an oxygen mask. i really didn't like being in the room with him just sitting there helpless since it was just waiting until he passed i decided to come back to camo that thursday. that night was CBC JUBILEE (skit night) and my troubles were momentarily forgotten.

the next day (friday) i lead bible study. i was going to lead it thursday but i was gone for bible study time on thursday so firday was my day. the passage for friday was 1 Thes 4:13-18
13Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. 14We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18Therefore encourage each other with these words.

i started of bible study by telling my campers why i was gone and used that as an introduction to talking about  this passage. the bible study went very well. at supper i was again told that i had a phone call. it was my dad telling me taht my grandpa had died. i would come home saturday and then the funeral was that sunday. that night at chapel first the songs seemed as if they were planned knowing the news i just heard. we sang IT IS WELL which is a wonderful song and then dave turner told us the story of why that hymn was written how haratio spafford family had all been killed in a ship accident. that was a story i already knew but it was nice to hear. then the speaker spoke the whole night on how great heaven is going to be. it was wondeful and just reaffirmed what i had taught to campers a few hours earlier that day. God is so good in how he provides for all our needs.

i am not saying that it was not sad to see my grandfather go but i know i will see him again in heaven. that time was still hard. it was eased much by the compassion and prayer to the staff at camp. specifically i remeber jason morrison and i crossed pathes behind the lodge. he just stopped and said "i'm praying for you" simple words but somehow i just knew he meant it and it meant so much. and bekka moller (now bekka darling) wrote me a note that just meant alot. it is still in the front of my bible. its on green paper with a flower on top. everytime i see paper with a flower on it i think of that note.

thank you to you two and everyone else who was so supportive then. thank you mainly to God who if it weren't for him that would be a horrible time. knowing that i would never see him again. but through the sacrifice of his son both my grandfather and i will both be able to worship God in heaven for all of eternity.  if you have an questions about that let me know. i would be glad to share with you.

1 Thes. 4:13 Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

hey so it is muy dudoso (doubtful) that i will have a chance to update tonight so i am doing so now.

today was pretty boring. nothing exciting happened yet.

tomorrow i leave for nashville. if you are not jealous yet then read this. sunday morning chapel will be lead by louie giglio and music by the passion band. there are evening showcases all week long here is an example of how cool there are. one of the moday night ones is  Paul Colman, Todd Agnew, Tree63, Building 429, BarlowGirl, Warren Barfield, Big Daddy Weave.

it will be lots of fun. not to meantion the fact that i will not be in school. yay for that.

QUESTION:
how cool is nashville?

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

so this week marked the start of our last quarter. that is good for me because i only have 2 classes now. my first starts at 10:05 and goes till 11:35 then i have 2 hours and 20 minutes and have econ from 1:55 untill 3:25. it sure is nice not setting the alarm clock and still getting up in time for school. then taking a nap over lunch.

its nice

so today i called camp and talked to jon about working there cause he is talking with everyone. i found out that there are 3 people appling for working as YMC mentor. only one of those is me (i know some of you think i should count as two) so pray for that, i hope thats what i am doing this summer cause i am not sure what i will be doing if it is not.

as many of you know talking on the phone is not something i enjoy so the phone call was not my most favortie time of today. but it is needed so i did it.

well in less than 48 hours i will be on my way to nashville that will be fun. well nt being on my way but being there. so yeah. i was talking about it with the girl who sits by me in espanol class and she asked why i was going so i told her cause my dad workds for the radio blah blah blah and it turns out she listens to him every morning. yep. everyonce in a while it just seems weird when i think that people all over listen to my dad, everyday. thats odd. but other times it just seems normal. its really confusing when he tells a story and i don;t know he told it some people ask me about it and i am like "how do you know that" anyways

i think that is all i have for now. if i don't update tomorrow. (i probably will) then my next update will come from the nashville public library.

QUESTION:
if you had to write a paper about me what would it talk about? (jon asked me this question today, well he asked if i had to write one about myself)

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

well i just got back from districts. it was wonderful. friday night started with a session of worship lead by steve fee and bill allison as speaker. then it was to the ramada for "hang out time" which for me meant swimming and water sliding. fun fun fun.

saturday morning we went to some pancake feed. that was good. i like pancakes. then kent and i had to go to sams club to get video tapes and we also got candy for shane cause it was his 30th birthday. we got him lots of candy. then it was another session with steve and bill. lunch time. i was not a big fan of the sandwiches but i was a big fan of the 4 capri sunds i got.

then it was break out session #1. i went to MALES VS. MEN lead by brandon somebody. that was a good one. at the start brandon asked for someone who thought they were more manly than shane. i got volunteered by ben so i had to go up. it was a indian legwrestling contest. i took shane out no problem. then brandon called kent up and i was a little scared because i didn't want to lose my undefeated-ness. (thats not a real word for those of you wondering) but after kent and i finally hooked legs. (it took a little sork we are not thme most flexible people ever.) i beat him pretty quick. yay for me.

next break out i went to the power of sharing your story lead by bill. he talked to us a little about what we should include in our story and things like that. he showed a video of a 6 year old named austen who told his friend who he played in the backyard with that she needed to accept jesus. it was a really sweet testimony. then we paired up and shared our testimony, then each pair paired with another pair to make a group of four and we shared our testimonies and then earch group of four melded with another to make a group of eight and we shared our testimonies. the kid i paired with was named cody and he was brought to districts by a friend and he didn't sound like he was a christian but then after hearing others tell there testimonies he added some stuff to his so i am not sure but we talked with him about accepting jesus and what that mean and told him he should talk with his youth leader about it more. so pray for cody. i am not sure what happened with him or anything but just pray.

for supper on saturday we went to space aliens. that was some good food. another session with steve and bill followed that then back to the hotel for some games some swimming some pizza some everything else. yeah good times. this morning we got up and had breakfast then went to bethel and had our sunday session worship this time was lead by the prism band cause steve and his guys had to leave so.

it is wierd to think that i might not see lots of those people ever again. it was my last districts and some of the seniors are not coming to camp this summer so who know when i will see them next? wierd to think about.

when i first wrote this out it was one paragraph. i thought maybe you would like some more organization so i went back and put in returns. aren;t you glad...

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

districts is tonight so i will talk to lots of you then if not i will update on sunday or maybe monday. who knows.

In God's Hands,
thomas kvamme

wow i think that is my shortest entry ever...
