well i am at home now, gomoorhead is up now so we have wireless in the whole town.

i am at home for the night on the way to marissa and dent's wedding. should be a wonderful time.

got a ride here (and there tomorrow) with jesse reimer. raechel is with
us for the rides between moorhead and st paul each way, but not the
other part. is with some girls for that.

my room is not my room anymore... its odd. there is an exercise thingy
in there. thats how we know for sure its not my room anymore.

i have nothing much i feel like saying right now

today in OT i got called on, he said my name wrong as i expected. i
told him how to say it, he responded with "kwame was on the apprentice
last year" i said "yeah like that but spelled different, and thats his
first name, but other than that." then i had to quote a passage in
front of the whole class.  i am pretty sure that i got it all
right. i hope at least.

but anyway i am going to be going now.

ok so i was referred to on raechels xanga and there was an allusion to my most embaressing story. here it is....


MY MOST EMBARESSING MOMENT
(AND SOME MORE STORY BEFORE IT)

it was last summer. camp had gotten done for the summer on friday.
everyone left to go home, except for sam, joe goetz, and i. we spent
the night at the residence of hannah kossow in cooperstown. the night
was full of many things that are now fond memories, the first was right
when we got there. bonnie doesn't like the word "freakin" so were were
going to try not use it the whole time we were there. that would have
been a feat cause we used that word a whole freakin lot over the
summer. so the car ride there we said it a lot to try get it out of our
system. we walk in and bonnie says "where are you bags?" sam right away
says "awww, i left them in the freakin car!" first sentence out of his
mouth, another one of which was
bonnie making hannah joe and i go get some pop while she talked to sam
(background for those of you who might not know, bonnie is hannah's
mom, sam was dating hannah at the time) we took an extra long time
getting our pops and came back about 20 minutes later and bonnie was
still talking with sam. i thought it was funny, he probably didn't.

anywho

the next morning (it was more like noon i think) we all headed to
fargo. bonnie, hannah, sam, joe, and i were to meet up with becky and
kevin benedict (hannah's sister and brother in law who all of us boys
had met over the summer and become friends with) once we were in town
the girls wanted to go shopping and the boys wanted to go to THE BOURNE
SUPREMACY, since joe's flight back to his home wisconson left in the
middle of the movie he went shopping with the girls and kevin, sam, and
i went to the movie.

after the movie we were all supposed to gather again (minus joe) and
eat some food. we went to t.g.i.fridays and found out hannah would not
be there because she went off to ride horses. so the order of us around
the table was bonnie, becky, kevin, sam and then me. since we had just
gotten back from camp and the banks were closed because it was a
saturday i had no cash, sam however had a check card, so he was going
to pay for me and i would pay him back. when the waitress (i think her
name was sarah or something) came around for drink orders most of us
got pop or water, kevin got a glass of wine. (he commonly drinks wine
but just a glass, its good for you they say.) well when sarah (i am
just going to pretend that is the waitresses name even if it isn't)
came with our drinks she brought 5 straws for 5 people. bonnie said
"kevin, don't you dare use that straw for your wine." kevin, as you
would expect from him if you knew him, grabbed the straw, blew the
wrapper off and started drinking his wine through it. later he even
blew bubbles in his wine. man is that guy fun.

when the waitress came to take our food order she started at bonnie and
worked her way around so i would be last. sam is ordering and orders
the chicken finger basket. blah blah side orders and junk. then says
"oh by the way...we're together" and points back and forth between him
and i. right away i think "oh no, what do i say now?" i sit there with
my head in my hands not knowing what to do. the other three occupants
of the table are laughing, kevin is laughing all out, becky is laughing
pretty good, bonnie is trying to holf it in but failing. i sit there
for what seemed like forever untill the waitress pats me on the
shoulder and says "don't worry we get it all the time..." and i again
think "nooooooo....."

it didn't help that i also ordered the chicken finger basket.

let me just start this off by saying i am in evangelism and missions
right now. don't worry i am still paying attention... sort of (oh and
for all of you that missed them i am sure the typos are back)

wow... so i got taht paper done last night then went to bed.

woke up this morn late for FYI... you know that class that i missed
last week and can only miss once otherwise i fail and have to take it
agian... yeah that one... but luckily it was just workshops for the
first half. so i missed that but made it to the classroom portion.
close one.

did a scan and scram for chapel.... ok not really i scanned and went to
a meeting that is worth chapel credit so its fine... the meeting was
for getting involved with THE GATHERING. i am going to be helping out
with sound/computer/lights... they use two screens, i talked with the
lead guy for a little bit. he says its to hard for one person to run
two screens at the same time. i think i can do it. last year i ran
sound and lights and computer all at the same time so just two screens
shouldn't be too bad.

the goal for the gathering is to be a media driven worship thing is
what i have been wanting to get involved in so this should be good.
there has only been one so far so i am getting in on the ground floor.
hope it works out good.... meeting with the leader guy about media
stuff friday before chapel

then i ate with alex, i was going to teach her how to use photoshop.
then found out she had paint shop not photoshop so i edited her picture
for her. she ended up skipping class. we sat around in the student
center. i put of writing a paper due tonight. started it at 3:30 class
starts at 6. i got in done then found out i needed one more source than
i used. bah.... so i rewrote it.... then went to supper. i ate the real
food and left with a cup of ice cream and a cup of soup. got to class
with both cups and 1 minute to spare before it started. ate my soup and
dessert then started this.... i am already bored and i have like 2:45
left of this class.... its a good class its just long.

i got a package from superchick today since i am on the street team.
too bad their concert was friday... well now i have lots of wristbands
(the big rubberband kind) and posters.

well i m in the student center now... i came out here about 2 hours ago
to do my homework for tomorrow... haven't started yet... so i am going

New entry coming at you like a pack of gorillas, (complete
with word that have no spelling errors. Just for karin)

Last night went over to the ocho. (for those of you who
don't know, the ocho is quad 8 in Moyer. a.k.a. the balcony room a.k.a. lots of
other stuff) and hung out, played some video games met some new people. A girl
wanted to play some fighting game on gamecube but no one else wanted to play so
I played her. I had never played the game before; I had also never played
gamecube before. She didn't even give me time to learn what buttons did. She
beat me for a few games but then I got to be able to beat her, and the guy that
owns the game. That was all in under an hour or so. Man I am a nerd.

After that we all went to a movie, the ocho all went and the
friends of the ocho (another guy and I, we are there a lot and people think we
live there) most of quads 10 and 11 met up with some other people there too. We
ended up taking up about two whole rows at the theatre. We saw the island it
was pretty good. There were some parts where things in it would never happen
but hey it’s a movie.

Today woke up (actually) and went to Brooklyn Park
(Kent's
old church) with Jenn. Then we went to watch the Vikings game with Kent and
some Brooklyn Park
people.

After that Alex took me to the mall to get flip flops. I like have a girl when I
go to the mall because she knew what stores would have things and all that good
stuff. I don't know any of that. Thanks Alex. We ended up not getting any because
all the stores had none. I need to get some soon mine break every 5 steps or so
now.

I want to drive Alex’s rav4. Not so much because it’s a rav4 but more cause it
has a suicide knob. She gets one because she has hand controls since she is in
a wheel chair. I want a suicide knob. They are fun.

After that Alex Steve and Marc and I went to BK for supper. I like food.

At vespers tonight 4 girls are walking by me and the first says “Kvamus” the
second says “Kvamito” the third says “Tommy Kvamme” and the last girl says “wow
you have to coolest name ever”

The elevators are still not working... I have carried Alex up
or down the stairs like 7 or 8 times so far today. Good thing she is so light,
not as big as me.

well so here is the big thing.

wednesday night there was a huge storm... like huge. tornadoes touched
down and stuff. power went out at 7 wednesday night and was out untill
6 friday night. it is still "out" but NWC brought in generators and
like so we have power now but can't use our AC or ovens or anything
like that.

crazy thing is wednesday afternoon at like 3 it randomly pops into me
head "you know... i don't have a flashlight... hmmm... oh well" then
that night no power for over 47 hours

the storm was lots of fun. we ran out in the rain and trees were
falling down all around us. it was crazy. then we came in and had to
sit in the hall way cause the tornado sirens were going off. it was
pretty fun. sang sorship songs most of the time.


no classes thursday or friday. that made it pretty fun. haing no power
isn;t to bad except some times it got a little boring but overall it
was great fun.

thursday i hung out with alex and steve we went to coldstone i had a
"gotta have it" of banaba and cookie dough icecream with strawberrys in
it. a great choice. and then i have to finish off most of alex's "love
it" size cause it was to much for her. then we came back and one of our
sister halls was going to make us supper but since there was no power
they made us pb+j. good stuff. then i heard of a birthday party going
on down at the island. i asked who it was for they said it was for
laura. i said "i know a laura" so i grabbed a present from my goodie
bag and went down to that. it was fun. burgers and food and games. kent
came down and pulled the good old "i am going to have to shut this
party down" everyone was sort of scared i think cause they didn't know
who he was. but i did so it was funny. he brought my bible. after he
left we read some bible and it was really cool. then we played catch
with live coals.

yesterday i woke up about 12:30. got 11 hours of sleep. hung out in
moyer for a while did some coloring. at 3 played rugby (i played
barefoot) (my feet got steped on alot) and then played ulitmate. man
were my legs sore after both of those. at some food. then played
raechel in ping pong. power came on then (well the generators did)
first thing i did after the power was on was, ready for this... poop
with the lights on.... it made me feel so high class. i mean lights in
the bathroom what a luxery.

hung out across the hall with some guys then went to another bonfire.
after the fire came to moyer again ate some pizza and watched MAN ON
FIRE. good flick. hung out with nate and colin in the student center.
colored a picture of spider man from my coloring book. its a good
picture but spiderman is really showing off his butt. so i put a note
on the bottom "girls: do not let spidermans butt cause you to stumble!"

woke up today at 12:30. apparently raechel called me earlier (9:30ish)
and tried to wake me up because the langofrd sr class (and some) trip
was in town and had two extra tickets to chanhassen and we could have
gone but i did't wake up. according to her once i picked up the phone
and hung it up again right away but i don't remember any of this. so if
i truely did it raechel i am sorry for hanging up on you. if i didn't
then i guess i am sorry someone else did.

played dave in some pingpong i am working on my back handed serve with
spin. if i get super spin on it it goes off the table so i have to
tweek it a little.

now we are over in the mel j center useing the internet cause its not up in the dorms or anywhere else on campus yet.

class tonight was not that bad. long and hot but not as bad as it could be

afterwards i was helping maddie with a class i am not in. anyways her
friend/roommate come up and says "so... tell me about your secret love
for maddie" it was some sort of inside joke i guess but i decided to
play along and started saying

"well it all started before we even really met and matt would yell out
your name so i knew who you were but you had no clue i existed. then
one day you were sitting on that couch over there (and i pointed to a
couch) and you were sitting in the middle and matt was on the other
side and dan was in that chair but the other side of the couch was open
so i came over pretending it was to talk to matt but really it was to
meet you...."

and i made up this whole big story and all of the details were true
except for the parts about me liking her. like we really did meet on
the couch i pointed out etc.

so after i made up this big story her nad her roommate are just sort of
giving me this almost blank look. her roommate says "are you joking" in
a tone that would let you know she had no idea if i was or wasn't but
was leaning toward wasn't....

i toyed with the idea of keeping it going more but i didn't. i said
":yeah i am joking. if i tell i girl i have a crush on her i hope to do
it in a way better than that."

thats my story for the night. i am going to go to bed cause i am
getting up at 6:30 for see you at the pole. and i told my RA to get me
up so i can't not get up. even if i locked the door he has a key

the variety show went really good, hosting went well considering that
we didn't plan anything... nothing at all. some people don't know that
we didn't plan, obviously they don't know peter or i that well.

the surprise was that a guy played a song that he wrote for his
girlfriend and then proposed. the song was wonderful. every girl
melted. i think if his girlfriend would have said no lots of other
girls would have gladly said yes right there

so after that i had to go up and say something... what do you say after
that? si i told the audience what i heard someone else say backsatge

"i am really jealous right now

after teh show went to applebees late at night. had a really good waitress not only was she good but she was fun.

then i hung out in the student center till 7  in the AM. after a
while of hanging out in there i wanted to go to bed but i didn't wnat
to move so i stayed there. then finally everyone else went to bed so i
did to at 7. the sun was coming up....

i came in my room and was being quiet and everything to not wake up the
mates and then after being quiet for i while i realized neither of them
were here... so just cause i could i turned on all the lights and was
loud for a little bit. then i went to bed.

today jeff woke me up at the stinking crack of noon. i needed to paint
some more shirts for people to wear at the football game. we won 66-0
way to go eagles.

hung out with raechel some today. we tried playing tennis with her roommates but it was already dark so it was tough

then we came back and watched  ICE PRINCESS it was pretty much the best movie i hav ever seen....

ok just to clarify. i didn't kiss anyone. thats icky

well today i had stinkin FYI at early and then people said we should go

there was. grrr. then i had to write a paper that i found out was due

well last night at about 1 or so i took a kissing quiz with a girl.....
ok not like you are thinking it was one of those stupid online quiz
things. it popped up and she said to take it so. we took it. mainly she
did cause i have never kissed anyone so....

today was pretty busy. first i took my first test. lets just say i
didn't get perfect. not to shabby but.... then since i was done early i
went to eat early with amanda. yummy. i like eating. then more class.

so yesterday my brother and i started planning for the fall variety
show (we are the hosts) its  this friday at 8 for those of you

-No one deserves a good life, everyone deserves death. Anything we get besides
death is a example of God’ wonderful grace.
-The biggest problem in the world is not the problem of evil, but the problem
of good. Why does God show us any favor at all?

 

The amazing mercy of
God:

-It is right here that god’s
passion for himself is shown to be expressed in his love.
In distress, humans recognize our real helplessness and hopelessness without
God. we turn to him for help and he is exalted. He is shown to be glorious
-God is the most valuable element in the entire universe, and he exists to proclaim
his great worth in all the word.

-It is therefore the greatest act
of love for him to make a way for a sinful people to enjoy and delight and find
how in that element of reality which is of greatest worth.
-Because God loves himself, he loves us. Through helping us recognize our need
for him, our need to exalt God rather than ourselves, he shows his excessive
and unswerving and unrestricted love for
us.

finally got my spray paint today. it was a good day. one of the colors
ended up being more blue than blue green like it looked, oh stinkin
well.

today was club signup day. i am in the red head league and the north
dakota club. i didn;t sign me up for either but i got signed up
somehow. meh

spray painted some stuff... played some halo dos. hung out in the
balconey room. its been a good day. not to much went down yet stuff

i just felt like it was time for a change, its not taht i didn;t like
the old colors. they might resurface later. we will have to see but for
now NWC purple and gold

today in OT the prof was talking about how man needs to treat man his
wife like she is a part of him and take care of her. he gave the
analogy of if you stub your toe you don't take an ax and cut off your
toe because it hurt you but you caress and nuture it. ok sounds stupid
now cause i didn't write it down then and i can't think of exactly how
he said it but it was really good and i thought i would share it

tonoght there was a thing called "the gathering" it was pretty good i
guess. worship time and stuff. i signed up to be involved with
computer/lights/sound/ everything else. should be good times

but i have to take a quiz before midnight so i should probably go do that

well today i had stinkin FYI at 8:40 in the morning.... gah... even
more so cause i woke up at 8:39. i waked in as holien was taking
attendance. i am not sure if that is late or not? oh well

wrote a reflection paper on the purpose driven life for FYI last night
at like 1-2. it is like my 3 time going throught the book. its wierd
though, this time i connected it with so many things from camp, i
connected it with barb chines talk and with "Growing Strong" and with
some other stuff. yeah.

had my night class tonight again. 3 and a half hours... boy oh boy. we
are working on a group report. my job is putting together the power
point. somehow they thing that is lots of work so thats all i have to
do.... hehehe. i didn't even try to get that little work

i am trying to think of what else happened today. i know something
happened...what was it. i was going to tell you all... maybe i will
remember later

well i did just about nothing today for most of the day.... my sunburn
is mostly healed. sort of. i think i have adapted since i burn so much
that i heal faster....i should just done hurting by tomorrow

i found out a really easy way to be friends, have two tickets to
switchfoot... so many people asked if they could go. i was talking with
someone in the hall about how many people asked me to go and a guy
walks out of the room and says "you won those, you could take me" and i
say "do i know you" and he says "no, but you could still take me"...
yeah

anyways i ended up taking raechel kemp. first we walked .7 miles to the
bus stop then took the free shuttle... it was the first time i have
riden a city bus.then when we got there security was checking bags and
things... i got a little nervous cause i have my knife on me. but the
didn;t check me at all.... so if you want to kill someone in a concert
jsut make sure the weapon fits in your pocket. the concert was good.
but it felt really small after lifelight. it was still good. i am such
a nerd, i realized some light things that i would have done different
than them.  there was fireworks after. reminded me of jeff..... um
yeah

then some guy was handing out stickers outside. it was a pretty cool
sticker i liked it. then when i got back i found out that nicole was
for some reason unable to go tonight so i gave her my sticker...

well i am back from lifelight. it was really good. got there friday
night for most of jermey camp and then stayed till sunday left just as
third day was starting.

i stayed with a guy from college's grandpa in iowa so i hit up 3 states over the weekend.

friday we were only there for a little bit. saturday was really good. i
got on the jumbotron so taht everyone could find me and it worked.
salem people found me and so did langford people and some others
aswell. it was good to see all of you that i saw and all that i didn't
you were missed.

the hawk nelson concert was crazy we were up in the 2nd row or so and
people kept cramming up. people in like the 7th row back were trying to
touch the guy. if i were any smaller i would have died i think. i was
standing there with my hands at my sides (cause i couldn't move they
were stuck there ) and more people got squished together and this girl
(who was obviously getting squished as well) got puched into me and we
both looked at each other and i was like "hi how are you: and she said
: a little crowded but good, you?" and we had the funny little
conversation in the midst of mass chaos. it was pretty fun.

i was in the front row for lots of other things too. i must say raechel
is the best person ever at getting to the front of crowds. for the
sanctus real (i think) concert the langford crew said they were going
to head to the front then raechel and i couldn;t find them so we
figured they were in the crowd already. so we head in (using the
snowplow technique that i told raechel about where she would go first
and make the opening and then i go though instead of me going first and
pushing peopke jsut cause i am big) and she got us all way like around
and through the crowd looking for them and then we just went to the
front. then like 7 minutes later i hear austen yell and he is way
behind us, he says "how did you get up there so fast?" i told him "i
don;t know i just followed her"... i don;t know if there ever got up as
close as we did...

saturday night we went to perkins at 1 in the morning. i had my
standard early morning chicken fingers, mac and cheese, and breakfast
potatoes. (everyone remember from after chris tomlin) but then i had
some of zach's (from college) peanut butter and banana french toast.
that was good. i think i might get that next time i am at perkins

throughout the weekend i got lots of 1919 rootbeer. some of the best
rootbeer i have ever had. good thing we are having a kegger with it in
a few weeks.

i drove most of the way home last night. we got in at about 2. this morning

i really need a backrub. i am so used to getting at least one a week
from linn this summer that my back/neck are going into withdrawls. why
can't linn be here? yeah so all you people reading this at northwestern
if you wanna give me back rub all you have to do is find me sometime in
the student center or anywhere else and just start. if you don't want
to thats fine to.... i guess

i have tickets to swicthfoot tonight at the state fair... i might just
give them away i am not sure if i feel life going to another concert.

well should i start off with the big news first or last....

i think i will save it to last.

last night i walk into my hall and see mattress piled up and people
diving over chairs onto them. they lined up chairs (gettting
progressively more) and eventaylly lined up 6 chairs (thats like 10
feet long and some feet tall) and were diving (superman style) over
them. 3 guys went over the 6 chairs only one made it without touching.
so then our RA decides he wants to try... he runs and jumps like a
hurdle.... i was so scared i thought he was going to never have kids.
if you know what i mean. but he made it. he caught his foot on the last
chair a little bit but he survived. it was amazing

yesterday i left my room at 10:29 AM and didn't return untill like 12:30 or something.... it was funny

but then today i had nothing to do and managed to do everything on my list.

wore my pink shirt. found out that other people are trying to have a
pink shirt friday.... i am gonna stand my ground and stick to thursdays
and win over everyone

hung out in the balcony room agian. it was good stuff.

but so here is the big news part a) i am going to lifelight. raechel found us a ride. yeah raechel. so that will be really cool
cool stuff part b) i won tickets to switchfoot at the state fair on monday. even more music. should be a great weekend
